Our Story
Our story begins in 2009 with a young Adam Jeup competing in the World Drill Championships for the first time. There, he joined a community that was invested in sharing their collective knowledge and growing the art of rifle exhibition drill.
Motivated by their message, Adam began cataloguing tricks through an online training resource called Independent Drill. And by Summer 2010, the military drill world had a new standard in online education.
But as the channel grew, so too did Adam's skills, and this led to the release of more advanced tricks. The advanced nature of these moves created a gap where many drillers attempted tricks outside their skillset, highlighting the need for a more comprehensive drill training program.
To address this, Adam reimagined Independent Drill with the help of Justin Delaurier, Justin Ghan, Andres Ryan, and Neriah Guerin. This new project would create a curriculum to help guide drillers from their first spin all the way to septuple aerials. This project would come to be known as the Drill Dojo.
After launching on September 8th, 2020, the Drill Dojo qualified the first drillers on September 26th, 2020. Over the years, the Drill Dojo has certified thousands of military members, veterans, JROTC instructors, first responders, cadets, academy students, service team members, honor guard members, and civilians alike. It has become an integral part of JROTC's exhibition drill phase and a core training component of world champion drillers. In short, there is no finer place to learn exhibition drill anywhere in the world.
Now, backed by a partnership with Glendale Parade Store, the Drill Dojo continues to serve the drill community with Adam Jeup at the helm. The future will see the Drill Dojo taking further strides to support the entire drill community, and we look forward to building the sport to new heights.
Thank you for being here, and happy drilling!
